Automobiles in Germany's Town Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Around 50 cars have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with swastikas, they stated in a statement.

Police say they were notified during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.

The substance had been applied in the form of a swastika, they added.

Officers then located multiple other marked automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement say preliminary tests show the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to its source; authorities are currently not informed of any harm in association with the event," they stated.

City officials stated they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the community for tips.

A senior political figure commented the attack rendered him speechless and had to be solved rapidly.

"This event affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing attack five years ago," he posted on a platform, referring to the killing of nine people by a assailant targeting people of migrant background in 2020.
